Hobart-based Alufab specialises in aluminium fabrication. With a focus in the marine space, we regularly build boats and boat trailers, but we also produce car and camper canopies, box trailers, you name it… in short, if you want it in aluminium, we’ll build it.
Why aluminium for fabrication?
Aluminium is a fantastic material to use for fabrications. It has a high strength to weight ratio and a unique corrosion resistance. It’s both highly malleable and machineable and is used to create precise and beautiful work. It also happens to be the most abundant metal in the Earth’s crust.
And why Alufab for aluminium fabrication?
Regardless of how good a material aluminium is, it doesn’t build itself. To get the most out of aluminium you’ll need someone with experience working with it – someone who knows what it can and can’t do. Alufab’s chief fabricator Paul Harvey began his apprenticeship at Tri-Star Marine in the 1990s and soon became a joint managing director where hundreds of boats were built over the next 17 years.
We’re very proud to provide a top-notch service to Tasmanian businesses, and while we’ve been involved in high profile projects such as The Blade (pictured above), we’re equally at home catering for private recreational customers requiring our experience, our passion for working with aluminium, and our eye for detail.
While aluminium is our speciality, we’re also regularly working in general metal fabrication, including stainless steel. So whether you’re looking for someone to get a simple job done, or for a Hobart boat builder to bring your specific design ideas to life, don’t hesitate to get in touch to ask if we can assist.
